This document was created as a collaborative effort of the AAPT area committees on High School Physics and Teacher Preparation. The Research in Physics Education area committee also reviewed and approved the document. The new guidelines booklet has sections on knowledge of physics content, knowledge of teaching physics, curriculum, knowledge of learners, effective instructional strategies, and assessment.
